Oxford Sound: UP and DOWN in MILTON KEYNES
Oxford: As part of a Multi-Million pound contract The Oxford Sound Company has completed the installation of a complex sound and communications system for the Milton Keynes Theatre.
The contract included all the audio services, stage managers desk, cue light systems, ring intercom and CCTV. The system had to be configured and implemented to operate within the theatre's special characteristics as a multi-function facility. The Carr & Angier design included the ability to physically adjust the room acoustics to match the different events proposed for the theatre. This facility created special problems for the installation of the Community central cluster as the acoustic adjustment was effected by moving the auditorium ceiling to one of three pre-calculated positions: High Level; Intermediate Level and Low Level to accommodate the style of the performance with the High Level giving the maximum acoustic volume and reverb time. more
